Calendar of Events
Sunday 2nd July, 1.30pm – 5.30pm
Plan an afternoon of entertainment on Sunday 2nd July for a fun-filled Garden Party at Ugbrooke House, hosted by The Masons. A Carnaby set and Brass band will be on hand to provide entertainment, plus the Royal Marine Cadet Drummers. There is also a dog show and for the children, a free Teddy Bear’s Picnic, pony rides and an inflatable assault course.
After all that excitement, you may want to relax in the beer tent, admire the vintage cars, or partake in a spot of shopping at one of the many stalls.
The Orangery tearooms will be open serving Devon Cream Teas and other treats, plus the house will be open for guided tours to explore the stately home of the newest Cliffords in residence at Ugbrooke, The Honourable Alexander Clifford and his wife, Caitlin.

Fun Run & Open Air Cinema
Sunday 9th July, 10.30am – 11pm
On the Sunday 9th July, Ugbrooke House will become a hive of activity for the Macmillan Charity Open Day. The day is kicking off with a 5km fun-run (or walk – nobody is judging!) around the Capability Brown lake before the many food & beverage stalls and entertainment open for the afternoon. There will be a range of choirs and local musicians, cooking demonstrations and even some fun family sports activities ‘It’s a Knock-out!’ style in the afternoon.
As the sun goes down, the barbeque fires up and the bar opens to grab some dinner before the Open Air Cinema movie screening at 9.30pm (movie title to be confirmed).
With a little bit for everyone, don’t miss on this family day out at Ugbrooke House, with all profits going to Macmillan Charity. Tickets to be purchased on the gate. Free parking available.
Saturday 22nd July, picnicking from 5.30pm, performance at 7.30pm
Ugbrooke House and Devon Opera have enjoyed a long association, and this year the company returns to St Cyprian’s Chapel to enthral audiences with a story of love, passion and jealousy entwined in operatic gems performed by a stunning cast of young, professional sing and accompanist.
The company’s supremely talented soprano Natasha Day returns, accompanied by newcomers to Ugbrooke Vivien Conacher (mezzo-soprano), Aidan Coburn (tenor), Samuel Oram (baritone) and accompanied by Jonathan Swinard on piano.
Gates open at 5.30pm for guests to enjoy a picnic in the Capability Brown gardens before the show, so don’t forget to bring your basket, tables and chairs. Wine will be available for purchase on the evening.
RNLI Charity Day
Sunday 13th August, 10am – 4.30pm
The Royal National Lifeboat Institution is the largest charity that saves lives on the UK coastland and relies on public donations. In support of their efforts, a charity day featuring various stalls selling jewellery, collectables, books DVDs and bric-a-brac will be held, included performances by the Newton Bushell Morris Dancers, Heather and Gorse Clog Morris Dancers and Black Bess Border Morris Dancers.
The house will also be open for guided mini-tours for those keen to learn more about the stately home as well as refreshments available for purchase on the day. Adults, children and well-behaved dogs welcome.
Classic Car & Motorshow
Sunday 27th August, 10am – 4.30pm
On the Sunday of August Bank Holiday, Ugbrooke House will host the Classic Car & Motorshow in support of Help the Heroes. Stunning examples of classic cars, unique vintage cars painstakingly restored and much loved modern cars will be on show, together with Bikes, Small Vans and American categories. Many of the owners will available on the day, and will be only to happy to chat about their pride and joy.
Children’s entertainment, helicopter rides, mini-tours of the house, real ales and a hog roast will also be available on the day to keep everyone entertained.
