Guided Tours

Explore Ugbrooke ..the home of the Clifford family for over 500 years

Private Tours

Private guided tours outside of public opening times can be arranged by contacting the estate office on 01626 852179 or info@ugbrooke.co.uk.  For groups we request a minimum of 20, however please contact us even if if your group is not likely to number 20 as we are keen to accommodate visitors when possible.  A private tour allows you to really delve into the history  and stories of the Clifford family and of  Ugbrooke House itself. Private tour options include refreshments, select a simple tea & biscuits tour, a cream tea, a sandwich style light lunch or full buffet with a glass or 2 of carefully selected matching wine.

Should you be a smaller group and  have a particular interest in one aspect of the house or its history, please do not hesitate to contact us to see if we can arrange an exclusive option to accommodate your needs.

Public Opening (Closed for 2020)

Ugbrooke House is usually open to the general public during the summer months, sadly as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic we have decided not to open for 2020, we do however plan to re-open for 2021. We offer our apologies for any inconvenience or disappointment  this may cause,  instead we hope to welcome you to Ugbrooke in 2021.

General notes : Wheelchair access is available, however we regretfully cannot accommodate mobility scooters inside the house. Photography is not permitted inside the House although we have various vantage points within the park that feature the House. Drones are not permitted on the Estate at any time.

The Orangery (Closed for 2020)

The Orangery Tearooms are open for light refreshments and sweet treats on days when the house is open.  Choose from a traditional Devon cream tea, a homemade quiche or any of the other delicious homemade offerings available. Please see our menu as a guide, however bear in mind as items are homemade, not all items will be available everyday.

Dogs

Our Labradors Tilly  & Peggy love to share their garden with other well behaved dogs, sadly we are not able to admit visitors dogs into the house for tours (except guide dogs) – not even our own dogs are allowed upstairs!  Please ensure any furry friends are kept on a lead at all times in the grounds and  we respectfully ask you to clean up after your dog for the convenience of other visitors.
